Bundesliga: Change from Ukraine and Russia not possible

The FIFA decision for the simplified change of professional footballers from Russia and Ukraine is not taken over in Germany for the time being.

According to information from the "German Press Agency", a committee decision of the German Football League would be necessary - which is currently not in sight. Hertha Managing Director Fredi Bobic reaffirmed on Monday: "I do not think the German Football League has approved it that you can get players." One could "with great anticipation" assume that the Bundesliga and the 2nd Bundesliga "do not participate".

The World Association had decided that contracts with Ukrainian clubs are exposed to the end of the season, and players in Russian clubs may expose their contracts one-sided to 30 June.

The suspension of a contract means "that players and coaches apply as contractless until June 30, 2022 and therefore freeze it without any consequences to sign a contract with another club," said the FIFA.

At the same time it was determined that this change period is valid until 7 April. A club may also only commit a maximum of two players who fall under this derogation.
