World Cup in Qatar: Chile is protesting against Ecuador's qualifications
Despite the failure, the Chilean national team still gives itself hope of participating in the World Cup finals (November 21 to December 18).
As the NEW York Times reports, Chile has filed protest at the FIFA World Association because Ecuador in the South America qualification with defender Byron Castillo is said to have used a player that is not entitled to play - Castillo is supposed to be Colombian.
The multi -page application of Chile to FIFA, which is available to the Times, is said to contain a birth certificate Castillos, which shows that the defense lawyer was born in Colombia three years earlier than was actually known. The FIFA did not confirm the receipt of the protest on SID request by Thursday afternoon.

Chile had only occupied seventh place in the qualification, but hopes for the cancellation of all the game results in which Castillo has participated in fourth place. Ecuador had won this and thus qualified for the World Cup. Peru is still between the two nations (playing a World Cup ticket in the intercontinental play-offs) and Colombia-Castillo was not used against both teams.
